Elmer Wolfe Elementary School held it’s first “Hoops for Hopkins” to raise money for the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. This school and community event supports an Elmer Wolfe student who is currently being treated for cancer at the hospital. The funds will be used to purchase a variety of games and toys to help children pass the time while waiting for their treatments and appointments and to make their treatments a bit easier to handle. Elmer Wolfe raised and donated $10,000 to the MIX 106 telethon. The radio-thon was raising money for the children’s center as well. EWE donated during a ½ hour time period when all of the donations were being tripled. So the $10,000.00 became $30,000.00. An additional $4,000 was raised which will be put towards games and toys.
